This one is certainly not as visually poetic, but I love the actual haiku.

    wonderful stuff!

Oh it is more so than you may realize, mainly because of the personal nature of the haiku. I went for a very minimalist style for the images, along with a contrasting, almost contradictory, relationship with the text itself. The rain is at odds with the haiku's description of a heart aflame. Not only is rain the essential opposite of fire, it also symbolizes the adverse conditions the heart is under, and the struggle to stay alight in spite of them.

And that is exactly the way I read images & words-
well done! Congratz with the HV30

Well, I got that when I read it and saw the images....

I was speaking in more of a comparative sense.
Personally, I liked your older stuff more. I understand what you are getting at, though.

While this was intentional, the intent seemed a bit subtle. Too subtle for my tastes, but that's just my taste.

The camera work, in my opinion was not as good as the ones from your kodak ones. But maybe that's just you getting used to the HV30. I also did think though that the noise of the image was really noticeable....

Don't take it as insult lol.

This is some of the first footage I took with the HV30, so yeah that's mostly it.

I think I speak for all of us when I say: there needs to be some more haiku action from Hoop.
  • Hoop-CA, USA 3 months ago
ha, thanks TG. Remind me, 5 seconds, 5 syllables and so on?

    You got me thinking...
  • Taylor Gillespie 3 months ago
    Exactly.

Congrats on getting an HV30. How do you compare it with the Kodak in terms of quality and workflow satisfaction?
  • Taylor Gillespie 3 months ago
Well the Kodak is definitely faster in terms of importing, but the HV30 is just miles above it in quality and features.
