Cheers Alexandra. Somebody pointed out to me a while back that this looks a lot like the technique used for generating the background for the credits to the movie Punch Drunk Love. It's a really simple and natural thing to do programatically, so I guess it was inevitable that many people would come up with this idea. I still find the movies very satisfying and make new ones occasionally.
