    Ok, so let me get this straight... you put these slim producing leaves into tea.. let it rot (or ferment if you prefer) for two weeks... Then you drink it? Sounds Yummy! 8-(

    It's not leaves. It's a colony of yeast and bacteria. It looks like a mushroom. It doesn't rot, it converts sugar into enzymes.

    mmm i love kombucha but i don't have patience to brew it myself, I just buy it. I'd probably end up contaminating the batch anyways!

    Kombucha can definitely be yummy. I've considered starting to make my own because it's WAY expensive to buy at the store.

    hmmmm...my mom always drank kombucha and I thought it was a mushroom...it always looked like a slimy mushroom cap floating in murk...I lovingly called it "the bog of eternal stench" (thank you jim hensen)

    You don't have to buy that stuff, make it yourself.. My father-in-law is trying to convince me to drink that stuff too.. Not really a fan have to admit.

    There was a time I made Kombucha. I didn't like the tea, but I loved reproducing those mushrooms. The trouble was, I couldn't even give them away.
