LUNCHBREAK 3: Ghost Chevy
This is part 3 of a series of projects completed on my lunch breaks. I wanted to do some projects that were experiment based, that could be made quickly, and could work out some ideas that had been floating around in my head for a while. This piece got pretty involved in the post-production side, but was made using a simple point-and-shoot still camera.
I am of course visually fascinated with this car which has been parked in the same area of the Mission district of San Francisco for at least 10 years. Even though the windows are all taped up the white wall tires are kept looking quite white.
But there is also a story which was revealed to me. I was at the DMV working on my laptop, cutting out each frame from its background. A couple sitting behind me saw the car images and said this:
Apparently, there is a guy who has lived in this car for those 10 years. He comes in to use the facilities at their workplace, and uses the car as home base.
Music by Link Wray.
