That is an awesome setup. I can see it now... dolly grips everywhere... out of a job begging on the streets. :-P
  •
  • Its surprised me to see the cameraman riding handsfree and hold the balans the same time.
Its professional equipment a step to high for the amateur pro level.
Nice movie and a good demo, thanks.

That's quite a rig. Looks like it could be dangerous riding around on that thing with all that really expensive stuff strapped on. Great results, Great shots.

  • I taught about 400 people how to ride segways this summer, within a period of 10 days. They are awesome, and I'm glad that they are being used for filming! they really are steady, and the video evidence shows just that! Great work!

that looks dangerous, why not just use a dolly at that point?
  • Hata Proof Films plus 7 months ago
dolly & track systems are bulky, expensive, take to many ppl to operate & there is no way in hades you can get those extremely fast and long steady cam shots with a dolly track on the fly like you can w a segway. makes sense to me, i actually thought of doing this but i lack $$$ :)

super cool work! I would hate to see the operator slip up and fall from one of those things though... it would be disastrous!

i have been barging about you to my friends and colleges.... could you give me a run down how you control it though? i guess there are different types of segaways....
if i ever get a rig like yours i wane do a very fast wrap around a talent a few times (tight) than distance and zooming out.... i don't know if you can imagine it....thinking singer... would need a big stage for it and quite fast moving sag at the end.... dont know how fast they go
