24p playback was smooth on my dual core laptop. The 60p footage was a tad jumpy. Also, I found one of the clips that had an issue at a 10:02 seconds. If I tried to play through that point Vegas locked up. i was able to transcode the file to DVCProHD using a different tool and that played fine. Editing the DVCProHD files was very easy and fast, but the original AVCHD file had the best color representation and clarity.

I must know what tool you used to go from AVCHD to DVCProHD! I tried editing in CS4 on my MacBook but it just stalls all the time.. I've actually got a client waiting for the film so I'm kind of relying on a solution like that.

If it helps, next to Mac I also run Vista so a tool on either of the systems should work.
