A movie zooming out of the Mandelbrot set, generated by FractalNet, my distributed fractal renderer.

This video required a total of 1,455 billion iterations (an average of 484 million iterations per frame).

    How can I get FractalNet??
  • Michael Hogg 10 months ago
Unfortunately, FractalNet is not available for public download at the moment. There are many other fractal renderers out there (Fractal eXtreme, Ultra Fractal, etc), so I'd recommend you try downloading one of those if you'd like to experiment making your own fractal videos.

have you had thoughts of deeper zooming
  • Michael Hogg 10 months ago
Yes, I'd love to implement unlimited-depth zooming into my FractalNet software, but I haven't got around to it yet! Currently, FractalNet's zoom depth is limited by the precision of C's "double" type (about 15 to 16 significant figures). If I can find the time, I might add an arbitrary-precision arithmetic library to FractalNet, to allow unlimited-depth zooming.
