Voice Over
My friend James is doing a degree in music technology and sound design, and one of his recent projects is to take a movie trailer, and redo the sound for it. This video is a few different clips of when I went to do a couple of the voice overs for him. James is a very busy guy, so I don't get to see him much, so it was really cool to spend a whole evening with him doing silly voices and trying to make sound effects (hence the hitting things with the umbrella).
The trailer he was redoing was for 'Once upon a time in America'.
Music: 'God is in the radio' by Queens of the Stone Age
(plus other assorted tunes James was showing me, but I don't know any of their names)

I'm just slightly jealous, as you can probably tell.
This video is a little unrepresentative - we spent about 4 or 5 hours working - and that was just for my few lines! We were quite hungry by the end of it, so just went to get a well earned cookie.
I don't blame you for jumping to that conclusion - I would have done exactly the same if I didn't know James.
Don't take this the wrong way but, the most interesting things about this for me was seeing the inside of a Tesco's and how your beard is progessing.
See, for decades I've heard references to Tesco in virtually every UK tv show I've watched, but have no idea what they are or look like.
And the facial hair. You are getting closer to achieving FuzzyDavana, grasshopper.
As for the equipment - that was actually just a room he has in Reading for working. He's also a soundman for various events around Reading, so he's got the equipment from those events to use in his spare time.
I love the creation of things like that, I need more work, or I'm going to shoot a rocket at my head! I'm moving to England!
Yeah it was good fun doing it. I've never done proper voice over stuff before - only my amateur stuff on Vimeo - so it was interesting to see how it's done properly.
