WHOA!!!!...OK... This thing needs a WARNING... At about 2 mins. and 24 sec. (2:24) the high pitch sound can be REALLY tough on the ears if you listen to this with headsets....my left ear is stilling ringing...
In fact, I think I am going to check this frequency and decibel/volume reading change (when I get a chance) to determine if it is indeed problematic.
As far as Joe's comment goes, I feel a warning of any sort could detract from the effect of the surprise twist. However, if carefully phrased (e.g. Warning to users of headphones: this short was prepared in an environment that may contain traces of extreme volume change), it could save a few eardrums from excessive recuperation times. On second thoughts - what doesn't kill you makes you stronger - no?

I freakin love it man! Soooo slick and pretty - you're obviously an experienced animator, but still in this age of all-to-common vector animation, your aesthetic shines through with a subtle and delectable use of color; a very pleasant balance between minimalist patterning and attention to symbolic detail, and characterisation that really pulls the viewer into your own created (albeit fucked up) world. What is perhaps less obvious (though to me equally important to the success of this short) is your ability as a storyteller. Your timing works very well - leaving space for interpretation, whilst still keeping things on a gradual upwards spiral of connections to their surreal and poignant conclusion/anti-resolution. The symbolic components you incorporate display a similar sensitivity to the value of balancing proscriptive narrative with abstract/ambiguous space. Ca march monsieur, ca marche bien. In my experience, these are things that remain near-impossible to learn, and as such you should consider yourself fortunate.

I wonder as to your own intents in terms of the 'meanings' of the piece. Is it about Life? Spirituality? Nature? Ecology? UFOs? Humanity? Loss? Wolves in general? The birth of 80s minimalist electro? All of the above? ... Or something else entirely?
Regardless of your specific intent(s), I would say that you've done something good by releasing your creativity into the universe in this way. I look forward to viewing your other work, and hope to see plenty of 'new shit come to light' in the near future.
The sound doesnt make you stronger, it can ruin a persons life having damaged hearing. I personally I Tinnitus (constant and permanent ringing in the ears) cause by feedback from a guitar amp. It is something I will have to live with for the rest of my life. This sound is VERY damaging and can be very dangerous to anyone who listens to this, at even a "normal" sound level. This needs to be addressed right away. No one should have to be subjected to that kind of SPL without a warning ahead of time.
brilliantly insane story which i thoroughly enjoyed. it left me stunned and smiling. id like to add it to an Album of mine but doesnt seem to allow me.
As a musician, I do agree with there being a warning about the volume for the high pitch. Damage done to your ears does not make them stronger and can not be reversed. Especially if there is ringing afterwords.
I agree, I sent a message to vimeo about this, this can really do horrible damage to someones hearing, I was SHOCKED at how loud and damaging the sound really could be.
I like this one aswell. You really seem to have a sence for creating good stories, while keeping the animationgraphics 'simple', yet easy to see and understand. I defintly have to try and do some drawings of this sort.
My interpretation: If the being(s) or forces that ruled the world were to ever reveal themselves (or indeed, if we were to ever find some kind of unifying theory), we'd be totally mindfucked. Or we'd reach some new level of understanding that simply doesn't make sense to us now.
Sorry, probably great work (I don't know that much about the technical end of animation videos or anything); however, this is just to "out there" for me and I find it to be rather eerie. What is the meaning, or is there one?
This does need a warning for that sound, I even knew it was coming at that moment, but you can never imagine how loud and damaging that sound could be. I have a degree in Audio Engineering and I have to say, that level could permanently damage an ear drum. I had my volume on a VERY low setting with my speakers, and I was surprised at how loud and high pitch the sound actually was.... Please post a warning, this is unfair to some people who could get tinnitus from this, its a very well made video, but this is a very dangerous level of audio, and wouldn't pass a broadcast sound level anyway, so you should fix this. I am part of many committees to bring peoples awareness of how damaging sounds can be in clubs, and concerts, and this is definitely a health hazard for hearing. Please do something about it, thats just unsafe. Again beautiful images, but please at least warn people to drop their sound WAY down, or eliminate that sound from the video all together...
ummmm. it was worth blowing out my grado's? what can i say? the easy symbolism and light lyricism makes for a highly satisfying almost 3.33333333333~ mins/thx.
I really like things I have not seen before. I was discusted! Horrified. Very good job on your creativity. But dark humor. Very dark. Thanks for sharing.

I have to say,it is an armonious artwork, and the story is consciousness shifting!
