How strict is it that you drink Manischewitz brand wine? Because that stuff is really gross.

A wonderful Jewish family. I was tempted to film mine last night, but it would've degraded into "are you filming us right now? Is that on?"

here is the funny thing..my family is CULTURALLY jewish. we are the farthest thing from religious you could ever get. i would say most of us border on atheist or at least agnostic. Passover is basically just an excuse for us to all get together, make fun of one another, and have drunken dance parties, which is why it is so great. Dalas, Manischewitz is TOTALLY gross and i have NO idea why we were drinking it! When i asked my grandfather all he could tell me was "i'm the liquor person" which was a good enough answer for me.

I like rituals, but not religion. My family kind of exploded a couple of years ago, and we never see each other anymore, not even for Christmas or easter (I'm not Jewish). I don't know if I miss that or if I'm relieved. I have no idea what "passover" is, but spirits seem high which is usually a good thing :-)

This is so fantastic. I wish I had the idea to film my family during the seder. Nice to know all Jewish families are so wacky. I definitely know what you mean by "culturally" Jewish. We're the same way. I SUCKED at my Haftarah portion at my Bar-Mitzvah. In fact, I might not have even done it.
