    truly scary stuff...

There is nothing wrong with wanting to be closer to God, however one defines God.

What is problematic about this movement, with regards to American Democracy, is that it regards all other religious and philosophical traditions as being invalid and under demonic influence.

I agree with you all. This is insanity, scary and has nothing to do with our Constitution nor the ideals of our Founding Fathers. I thank you, RDJim for making me laugh! That seems harder and harder to do of late. Oh, my. I so hope that Sen. Obama wins but we have so very much work to do both before and after the election.

If you had footage of her convulsing under the 'anointing' like many of these misguided (and I stress... misguided...) Christians, then I'd be concerned. But what you have is limited footage of her speaking which has been edited and stuffed full of content not directly related to her. Like Obama was vilified for his association with his outspoken pastor, you're vilifying her for her association.

The real tragedy here is that people wanting God in their lives turn to leaders who mislead them into practices that not only take them further from God, but alienate many they are trying to reach to bring to God.
  • Bruce Wilson 1 year ago
The video documents the relevance of the footage used, and we've provided a link to extensive documentation of every single clip used.

But, we can't force you to read.
  • gsmith 1 year ago
I watched again pausing it at the scrolling commentary and again stress that you're making guilty by association. Nothing she said or was said of her was reflective of the extremes shown in the footage... the source being from an organization opposed to the 'religious right' and so loses all objectivity whatsoever.

The real problem, as you mentioned in another comment, is how we define God. See, others may label you, but you define you. So, the first step is to learn how God defines Himself, then how He views the rest. That way you can sift the gold out from the silt.

I've heard of "Holy Rollers" all my life but have never seen any in action, until now, anyway, and while I look on in wonder that any educated Americans can give themselves over to such complete hysteria, I cannot help but note that their leaders never seem to display such mindless behavior. It takes me back to the days when this same sort of rapture was being instilled in young bobby-soxers while the agents and promoters of skinny young crooners looked cynically on, laughing all the way to the bank.

Do all Alaskans have similarly vacant brainpans? After all, they did make Sarah Palin governor of their state.

And she was quite right that "something is going on around here," but whatever it is does not bode well for the rest of us should she remain such a mainstream media darling.

  • Shame on YouTube for censoring this video. This is important stuff. This woman is going to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency. And she's part of a mass hysteria cult in Alaska.
  • I was going to respond, but I saw your name and realized it was pointless.

That VERY MUCH reminds me of Daniel Plainview from There Will Be Blood. His voice AND the 'stache.

bad editing, but very worrisome stuff.

do something today and tomorrow and everyday to help obama get elected.

    America cannot allow this.

Hey chopped, does Jeremiah Wright offend you? I hope so. He may say it loud and direct, but there is truth in what he says. Does the truth hurt? Can you not hear it? If the social change that Wright advocates can only come to Washington instead of the wingnut white Christians and their oppressive agenda, THAT will be a true step back to the Constitution that we've lost somewhere along the way. After what the white churches have done to us for all these years, I'll be happy to try a change in color. Oh yes, that's what this is all about anyway, color.

Absolutely. Because the shit sammich on the other side of the menu is no better. I didn't say it was all true, I said there was truth there, and it takes a reasonable mind to hear and see it. I work in an inner city, I see it every damn day, so don't tell me it doesn't exist.

But then again, as you said about Palin, Obama is no longer associated with that church so we have nothing to worry about, right? It's in the past and of no consequence in the here and now. Feel better?

It's a shame you can't see through the rhetoric and recognize that there are real class and race issues in this country that go far beyond the 'reward and assist them' mindset. Get to know these people and how they actually live. Get out from the TV propaganda and political grandstanding and actually SEE it how it IS and not how it's portrayed.

BTW, check out factcheck.org and compare oranges to oranges. McLiar will actually be costing us more according to their proposals. I was willing to listen to the republicans till the ad that blamed Obama for gas prices.

Oh yes, and how much are we paying for the lovely war propaganda we now have as commercials, the military channel and even ads before movies in theaters? Yeah, I want four more years of that horse crap, claiming we're doing God's work.

I don't know about you, but the God I know doesn't advocate killing innocent children, babies, and adults of ANY faith or race, not just the unborn ones in the USA. Sounds to me and my God like they all need to be exorcised of the demons that make them want to kill.

I love our service men and women, I hate how they are being used. I hate how they are thrown away when they return from such service. They are noble individuals, asked to do an ignoble job, a job we were all lied to about. Make no mistake, no one hates our service people, but we hate how our leaders use them.

And yes, I am against the ads. Bring back the honor to armed services and there won't be such a recruitment shortage.

By the way, as for that video, if we go by that thinking, then we should also invade every non-democratic country and take them over too. Watch out Cuba! Whoa China, Argentina, and would that also include North Korea? That's very ambitious! Do we have enough manpower to invade and convert to democracy all those countries? Or just the ones with oil? Hmm... Invasion and occupation on a grand scale, all in the name of democracy... or some other natural resource.

Okay, so this too will be my last comment.

I am actually a middle-class white female, one child in college, the other graduated. Oh how I loved the Bush changes in financial aid; it's not every day I get bent over the table like that! Ahem, but anyway...

My final analysis of what you stated, besides the obvious GOP party line about dems, is that you have actually fallen for the GOP propaganda and lies that have fed your fear of black folks. Folks like you, and my parents, want to believe these lies because you are afraid of the African in his blood. This is the republican way, to split our country into splinters and it's what makes me so angry. I understand you are probably afraid of your world being rocked so hard by such a drastic change in the old white man status quo.

Personally, I want change to come in like a GD freight train and shake this country to it's foundations. We have always been at our best in adversity, and right now, more than ever, we need to fight for what this country was built upon in the first place. I love this country, it's killing me to watch it become barely a shadow of it's former self.

Indeed, if there were only a VIABLE third party, just think of the possibilities.

I live in a conservative district in Sydney that had elections last weekend. Almost everybody thinks Palin is ridiculous and nasty, despite being the Australian equivalent of Republicans.

I don't think dear Americans you seem to understand just how many friends you will lose if Palin is VP, let alone President.

Palin goes to Juneau Christian Center. The head Pastor of that church, Mike Rose, is a close associate of Rodney Howard-Browne, father of "Holy Laughter".

Howard-Browne brought his "anointing" of that "Holy Laughter" to Rose's church in the 1990's.

Rose was on Howard-Browne's advisory board.

You would have already known that, however, had you read the subtitles.

Some easy directions for the Palin fans.
Hop into your SUV and drive up to Seattle Wa. From there head north on I-5 until you get to
Hope, where you will pick up Highway 97. Take 97 all the way past Quesnel, Prince George, and Dawson Creek. Keep going (don't give up yet). Somewhere right around Watson Lake, Highway 97 becomes
Highway 1. Continue on Highway 1 all the way up through Whitehorse and on through to Tok. Hang in there your getting closer. From Toke you'll need to start heading West, so be sure not to accidentally turn off on Highway 2. From that point on just keep heading west and you will be in Wasilla in no time.
When you get to Wasilla, form your own country and secede...please.

people god is not someone/thing of judgment, good put simply is science. god is a natural force, like gravity whether u like it or not gravity pulls down, why? i dont know it just does. heat rises again whether i like it or not i just does natural force. the only existence of a god or satan is in your head. god is only a energy that everything and everyone shares, satan is mans obsession with that energy and how just because a human can and has discovered it they automatically assume it is his to do with what he pleases. Please think hard about this, the world is bigger then u know, always.
