Nikon D90 test edit. This footage was NOT shot by me. I took some clips shot by the D90 heroes Kholi and Zak and edited them together just for fun. I also did some changes to the gamma and colors.

  • Most excellent. Shearing and bouncing due to the rolling shutter (like Canon HV20/30) but that's sadly to be expected on this price level right now.

Very filmic quality of the final image, especially with the blown-out windows. Handled correctly (with VR lenses or slow pans/tilts on a tripod) this little camera is going to be a filmmaking revolution of the Panasonic DVX100 magnitude.

  • Btw, if you could post some settings you used on the camera (obviously locked exposure) including shutter speed, lens, ISO, aperture, that would be very helpful.

Just to clearify, I did not shoot the footage myself. I only post processed it.

good work ,the quality looks much better than the raw footage. What software and post proscess did you do?
  • Lantismedia 1 year ago
The software was PPro CS3. As far as processing goes I decreased the gamma on all clips individually with the levels tool and added a black and white tint around 30-50%. On output I cropped the image to 2.35:1 aspect ratio and compressed it with H.264 codec at 3500kbps. That's pretty much all I did. The titles and the music do the rest. :)
