I really liked this film. Much more so than your very similarly formed 'les fantoms ...'. In this film, you manage to create a certain transcendence from the formal, social and perhaps surface focused world of the images, to something more revealed and intimate. The tension between these two is the magic I feel here. In 'les fantoms' I felt the same transcendence is potentially there, but the tacky 'surface world' - the pornographic images - holds me back from making this leap. Naturally the penetrative sex images are very distracting on that front. Though I will say the repeat of the greeting and hug at the door almost worked for me. I look forward to seeing more of you films
