This project came out of the desire to explore the interaction between live performed visuals and realtime poetry. The outcome was the developement of our visual engine 'DeepSpace' and our first performance with it: BBMN.
DeepSpace is a real-time visual engine built by TODO using Blender (Open Source 3D game engine) controlled via OSC and Python by midi controllers and an interface developed with Isadora.
Words and text can be sent to DeepSpace by a single artist or a group, or even by a wider audience, using standard mobiles and sms or over a LAN or Wi-Fi connection.

BBMN was performed for the first time in Torino, inside the Electronic Music Festival Club To Club in november 2005 as a vjing performance showing the clash of DeepSpace's visual flow with the words of the italian poet Luca Ragagnin.
The idea was to bring a poet inside a club, mix him up with dancing people, loud music and drinks, and let him freely wander and improvise poetry, composed in realtime on a PDA and sent to the engine in realtime over Wi-Fi.
