For some reason, my entire ability to understand the world hinges on one firmly held belief. That all socks and shoes were made in pairs and designed to be together forever. Seeing a box of socks that are not in pairs is kind of like finding out the tooth fairy doesn't actually live in a house made of teeth. I mean, there is no way to tell if there is even an even number of socks in those boxes.

Fun fact: This is also the reason you'll never see me wearing white socks. I can't be sure they don't get mixed up in my dresser.

No.... well some of them were dirty, I think some had something written on them. But there were supposed to be "new."

Oddly enough, dirty socks don't bother me at all, as long as they match, and they're not white.
