Chronophage — the time-eater, devourer of hours...
This was quickly shot (as I was passing) yesterday evening after the unveiling, earlier in the day, by Prof. Stephen Hawking, of the newly designed Chronophage clock,at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. This is an amazing sight, and is a very unusual creation and timepiece. This "snapshot" was more or less thrown together and was taken in complete darkness, with only the light from the Chronophage encasement available. Again, using the HG10 (in Spotlight mode, with three clicks down on manual exposure). Barely colour graded, this is more or less how it looks to the eye.

Your video and music choice 'captured the time' nicely :)
BTW Greg, how the hell does one 'just' pass by Corpus Christi eh eh ;oD Very Noel Coward of you 'Oh yes darling I was just passing as they unveiled this enormous medallion, cant think what it was all about dontcha know'
;o) Brilliant job!
How was I just passing? Well, literally that. (Unbelievably I'd read about this earlier in the day but had completely forgotten about it till I got to Cambridge!) I was out to test the low light capabilities of my HG10 and literally walked past a small crowd of people as I strolled in to the city centre, saw the Chronophage, went "wow!", and took some shots. As I only live 30 mins away, I'm often to be scene wandering around the streets, there's so much visually on offer there.
Alien meets Fabergé? What a perfect description, yes.
Nice work dude!

Spotlight mode is pretty good and far easier to get to work than the photo button trick. I see I'm gonna have to raise my game just a little more now Greg. Top quality stuff.
Spotlight mode works pretty well, just you don't know quite how wide the aperture is, but it can't be far off fully open, and I reckon the photobutton trick is a little overrated, myself.
Thanks for your comment, Woody.
The finest post-modern amalgam of science, technology, art & music that I've ever come across .
Interestingly, this film was seen by Dr John Taylor who commissioned the clock and I then got the commission to shoot the promo film. It's surprising how one thing often leads to another.
