I have an old (70s) Schwinn crusier. I want something that's better for long distances because it's easy to bike around Portland, but not as easy with the cruiser.

Yea, I used to have an old Schwinn cruiser as well, but i think cruisers are pretty difficult to ride long distance too. My bike that I have now is a Schwinn continental from the 70's...you should get a road bike...it makes such a difference...you can ride long distances and not get tired out as quickly because it's so light..and mine was extremely affordable. You live in Portland?? That's awesome, I'm actually trying to move there after my last year here.

I don't say it's easy but constraints are sometimes a real source of imagination and originality (what a common sentence). And I think your time constraint is part of what make this clip great to me.
