Sunday 21st September 2008 saw the first weekend sunshine for ages. With the runway now dry and the grass cut short, the local jet jocks were out in force.
Andy Ellison had his new CARF Rookie Mk2 (Jetcat P80), Alan Whittaker had his Tango (MW54) and Dicky Fry had his little L39 Albatross (Wren 44).
With a radar gun to play with as well Alan hit 138mph (wheels down), Dick 118mph and Andy got the Rookie up to 178mph - All straight and level passes were slightly angular to the radar gun so add a bit to that to get an idea of the real speed.
