This setup has emitter particles in plane object and reactor particles in Suzanne object. Suzanne gets destroyed by plane object's particles by using the reactor particles with explode modifier.

HD version is available.

This version has a small update. In previous version of this video I mentioned that there was "somekind of a baking bug" in the bake system although actually that was not the case. Thanks for clearing that up Jahka, and sorry about that. :D

  • Hannu Hoffrén 1 year ago
Thank you for the compliment! If you ever publish it somewhere on the net, I'd be very interested to see it. But, if you put my name there, I think at least Janne Karhu's (jahka) name should be there too. ;)

Ok, I've downloaded the tutorial but I haven't watched it yet. Can you use this in the game engine?
  • Hannu Hoffrén 10 months ago
I think this is not possible in the current game engine (248.1).

u will say me noob, but i follow all the tutorial and i can't do that
  • Hannu Hoffrén 7 months ago
Was it some exact part where things got confusing?
  •
  • AsLo 7 months ago
I think it haven't confusing things, but, my blender do rare things, for example:
-when i change the visualitzation (Point -> Object), (and the name of the object) The particles starts in another random point of the grid. Any idea about what happened?

PD: Sorry again for my bad english :p
  • Hannu Hoffrén 7 months ago
The object you are referring to needs to be at zero location [0,0,0]. A quick way to move it there is Alt+G. Any other problems?

This is so frickin awesome!!!! Learnt a coupla things that might help everyone - if I'm wrong on these PLEASE set me straight:
    1. Let it bake all the way or you might get particles instead of shrapnel
    2. If you have force-fields in your scene, those will attract or repel your shrapnel just like it would any other particle
    3. It doesn't seem to work with boids particles, so stick to ol' Ike (Newtonian)
    4. Use "Split Edges" on the explode modifier for that torn apart look (strong force)
    5. It looks so cool you will want to explode everything you ever made!!!
