This short piece was done for the promotion of a national competition, 504ward.

The idea behind this is simple. Many young people have come to New Orleans for college, opportunity, Katrina or whatever- we want to keep them here. $100,000 dollars for the best business idea to retaining young entrepreneurs in New Orleans. You can apply at 504ward.com

The initiative is backed by the Idea Village, a business and entrepreneurship incubator.

I agree with Tung Ly, well framed but could have done with some simple stabilization. All in very well put together.

What's funny is Tung was wearing a Glidecam for the duration of this shoot. Boo to glidecam. Yay to Steadycam.

    (and monopods)

I'm not even a fan of real Steadicam, it still takes years of training to master a dead smooth shot, amateur Steadicam operators (ie indie filmmakers) still get wobble which is especially apparent in slow-mo, Boo to Steadicam, Yay to Dolly. (we sound like a CommonCraft video).

Hhaha...I love it. Do you have a dolly that you could recommend?

Well if you've got the budget for it... then Indie-Dolly (sold at B&H about $1000) is a nice little system, otherwise with roller-skate wheels and a bit of hardware you can make pretty decent DIY version. I am totally impressed by the Indie-Dolly though.

Hi Benjamin, as you know I like your style. Just this piece isn´t as good as your recent works. I miss the authenticity. Can you understand what I mean? Anyway, nice job. Greetings and happy new year! Michael
