Great clip -- I think the people of Amiens must have the most photographed feet in the world!

Only a few more days until the election...how will you vote?
  • Remyyy plus 3 years ago
    Ahah !
My vote will be for the woman.
  • Tallulah 3 years ago
I just realized what today is! I suppose this was a "May Day" demonstration for workers, yes?
  • Remyyy plus 3 years ago
Yes ! That was the classic demonstration plus against extremism (particulary since 2002) and a bit against one of the candidate of the next election who has some crazy ideas (my opinion).

    vote left!

For a "political" clip, i miss people speaking up their minds about the subject.

I´d love to see a less musical approach to this.
  • Perez 3 years ago
I don´t speak french, but even so...
  • Remyyy plus 3 years ago
I agree with you but my point here wasn't to make a "political" clip. It was more a "what I'm feeling during this" sort of clip. It's one of my "objectiv" to make "political" clips but I haven't for the moment the ability (not enough self confident plus a bit timid => I don't interact with people when I'm making my shots. But I'm learning time after time, at least, that's my impression). Thanks for your comments ! I appreciate.
  • Perez 3 years ago
    oh, i totally understand that!
i´m very timid as well! haha
  • binjam 3 years ago
i agree, and "les dechires" was not political too.
  • Remyyy plus 3 years ago
You're not so timid, when I see your "brief messages".
  • victoria 3 years ago
I'm also quite timid, but every once in a while I break out of my shell and talk to strangers and it's very rewarding. :) I like that this isn't a political clip... I think it's great the way it is. It's very peaceful but sad, and also hopeful at times. I think you did a wonderful job capturing the inside feelings rather than just the outside demonstration!
  • Perez 3 years ago
I still think this IS a political clip. Even if it wasn´t your intention to make one.
  • 3d60 2 years ago
I'm not..timid. I think its imperative we talk and act against the growing fascism that surronds us....its not actvism its desparation.

France would seem to be one of the last bastions, of liberty, fraternity and more importantly action. But this kind of thinking is below ten percent of any given population. I talk to the converted all the time, trying to reach the other percentage of the population is the task....

I try but I mostly fail, as the position of polotics in our world is such a monstrous fraud as to be highly unbeliveable. Self censorship is the default action...break through that ,illustrate where the real power lies, illuminate the new world order for the facist manifesto it is and maybe we might have a chance.

I live here in the U.K. comfortably, largely on the taxes raised from Arms deals, which are brookered to create anarchy and despotism, to which we as western nations step in to and regain peace....and underneath imperrilistic power for the minnings concerns the debt mongers and the people be dammed. I am under no illusion that the peace I have here, is due to war devestation and economic slavery elsewhere..hows your peace derived?..

Banks lend money to both sides, to buy weapons to wage war....political ideals social health, are not the aim, war be under no illusion is to create debt. In americas version 600 billion of it? Who wins in this scenario....the Banks...debt is slavery period. your peace and economic prosperity is a product of economic and social slavery.

I have only one answer...look for your selves and tell others of what you find. Don't take my word for it...because this is prpoganda by any other word. Everytime I start this off, I run the risk of turning most people off...but maybe one more person will start to see...that's why I do it, thats what I'm srtuggiling for.

Sorry but start talk of this nature and I will try to educate..

Remyy, This was very cool. I would rather see this approach than any other. Whenever I see demonstrations on the news, they always interview someone who really doesn't know what they're talking about and inevitably make themselves (and the demonstrators as a whole) look like idiots. This vid made the whole thing look legit. I really like it.
  • Remyyy plus 3 years ago
Thanks ! I think that journalist have a responsability in making the demonstration less legit. I mean, it depends of course of the reason of the demonstration at first but sometime, they just cut people or don't ask the real question because they have to make a report of 1 min, 1,5.

This is an interesting juxtaposition to markdaycomedy's most recent clip:

Both effective, but both very very different. Remyyy, you edit so amazingly well. I want to be like you.

  • Remyyy plus 3 years ago

Very nice, and the music was a great fit. I like going to the protests here to. I've been following the election in France, it's been very interesting, as I see some similarities to some of the problems France faces to what the US is beginning to.

I've learned over the years to have faith in ideas, not people (politicians).
  • victoria 3 years ago
Really great point, Ed. I grew up being one of the ignorant kids who didn't follow politics because I thought it was a bunch of nonsense and I simply couldn't trust politicians or the system. I've changed a bit now, maybe become a tad bit wiser and I feel like it's important to know what's going on. I finally saw the light that you mention - have faith in ideas, not people. That's the trick! :) It makes a world of difference.
  • ed 3 years ago
yeah, and as you get older sometimes your beliefs change, often because of the "rule of unexpected consequences" that a seemingly good idea brings about.
  • Remyyy plus 3 years ago
I'm really interested to know what problems you see we (in France) have that you (in the USA) 're beginning to have.
  • ed 3 years ago
Remyyy, I recently (before the election) read a very interesting article in an opinion journal regarding this. I'll summarize it with my thoughts and send you a message rather then mess up your video comments. Probably sometime tomorrow.
  • Remyyy plus 3 years ago

I think you really captured the mood of the demonstration in your clip. I really like this video because it is like getting a glimpse into french culture. Awesome job!!
