I used to be afraid to blow bugs off. I thought it might kill them. I think they're stronger than that. Especially ants. I love ants. They're my favorite. And bees. I love bees too. Don't kill that bee. If bees die we only have four years left to live. The bee is just whispering to you, she won't sting. You did see a kitty! Miss Emma Lee Boo Riley, or "Emily" for short. She meows more than she breathes I think. I don't know what those feathery things are on the spider. I must find out.

Yay for bugsavers like us :) I must confess, I do kill blood-guzzling insects like mosquitos and ticks...

I'm pretty sure everyone does that. They, unlike most bugs that I know of, don't serve a functional purpose in the ecosystem (aside from being food for other animals, but they really don't need to fill that spot, because there are plenty of other food sources for said animals as well).

your last comment reminded me of a great book: The Beauty of the Beastly by Natalie Angiers, a New York Times best-selling writer.

In this book she talks about all the weird, ugly animals and bugs in our world and the function they serve, and how beautiful they are in that respect -- everything from dung beetles to hyenas, vultures to cockroaches. Get it, cheap, used!

you are right, I did forget to mention the cat... but I think she should be a secret surprise! It was an accident how that happened like that, but I think it's my favorite part of the clip... I love her swirly movement and how the camera focus catches her and then goes back to the ant.

You are right, and I'm glad you caught it... I did say "thu... thu.. edge" so you're right, it was improvised (and so was "thee scary", incidentally) so I guess I can excuse myself (only this time though!). I just like to point out my own mistakes... a very bad habit!

It was actually a dirty old magnifying glass I found, and it didn't work too well (especially because I had the center focus set - silly silly me!) but I guess it makes for an interesting effect... I'm so happy you like it! and the last frame too... this is a new "style" for me, a lot more "verité" than my usual methods
