This one has both the Mp3 of the song and the audio from the concert.

I really like the way this sounds as compared with vimeo.com/clip:172950. By having both audio parts, you get the concert experience with the mastered feel. It's nice to be able to hear all of the details of the song that are lost in the original version.

Is it 50/50 of each? It sounds good like this, its not overly clean. They're sick by the way...

the song is def accentuated by the "wall of sound" effect the 50/50ing adds!

Yeh the combo sounds great. Surprised the live and studio had the same timing. Reminds me of a mix between the Minibosses and Mesu Kasumai

Really great idea - It's crazy they match up so well.

Yea. Do they play to a click-track or something?

They play some of their songs with the I-pod, something I'm not too crazy about with conventional bands, but considering the fact that that they play the rest of their songs through and along with the Nintendo NES game system, I don't think they count as a conventional band. Peter programs the 8-bit parts onto chips which he then loads into the NES. Hearing that live with the guys playing along is definitely worth seeing.

I feel like I'm in a mosh pit with the dudes from Double Dragon. Up Up Down Down B A B A Select Start DANCE.

After fiddling around with one of their songs to make it a soundtrack to a quick video I was making, I checked out their Creative Commons License.

    They're rolling with (Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 2.0).
And, specifically request people not remix "... this includes synching the music to a moving image." I guess I should just email them and ask for permission? It's cool that they put the music up for free, but why not let folks experiment?

Send Peter a message. He's on Vimeo: Peter Berkman.

Helix Nebula has been my favorite song for quite some time. Incredible to find a music video for it here.
