nice work! At first I thought this was performed in real time and I almost lost it.

Thanks! With a slightly lower number of particles this runs in realtime. But rendering (saving PNG frames) takes a long time.

wow...yet another reason to learn processing. it seems like its much faster than jitter
  • eduardo omine 1 year ago
Realtime performance depends a lot on the calculations you're doing with the particles. In this project almost everything is tied to the Traer physics engine, but there aren't many forces going on. It also runs fast because it's rendered with OpenGL.

did you generate the jellyfish geometry in processing or did you model it in maya or something and import it?
  • eduardo omine 1 year ago
No models, everything is generated with code... the squids' tentacles are made of a series of particles connected through springs using the traer physics engine.

Também achei que a "água-viva" era modelada. Ficou muito bom, criou um clima fodasso... Tava vendo aqui do lado os frames também... impressionante. Parabéns

    also love the camera work.

The camera was controlled with mouse and keyboard (like in a first-person-shooting game) -- it was great working with the OCD library.

Wow thanks!!! My biggest doubt was how you did the nonrealtime thing and make it audio reactive!!! so awesome!!! Never would have thought of it =) but I don´t know what kind of info would you export to the text file.... but thanks you gave me a place to start in audio analysis =)
