For future references we need to count the views that's why we prefer that the video's won't be published elsewhere but only embedded.
We need future sponsors if we want to do this more often. :)
Let me know if you want to download the video's for personal use then I will give you inlog.

I appreciate your position in wanting to focus and increase view count to a single source. However, vimeo is relatively unknown in comparison to the likes of YouTube. Therefore, a multi-distribution approach would seem to make more sense. However, I'm probably speaking out of turn as I'm sure there's more to it than this. :)
The reason I liked to the download site is I that I shared the frustration of the other commenters in not being able to download to my own portable media device (it really helps the London tube rides). To download the video I must view the page, and in doing so increase the view count. Therefore, didn't see any issue in downloading the video.
Well that's my rational :)
it is not that we miss your view when you would download it. Which indeed you are right it will be counted for as a view when you download it. It is the possibility that the video will be published and viewed somewhere else. If it is embedded we can see where it is published and these views do also count for us. And when it is published yourself we don't know how many views.
I am not trying to protect the video material, you will get the downloads. It is just that we want to do this more often so we need to collect money to do so. That is the only reason. No we've paid for the production ourselfs.
I will mail you the download link.
Thanks for the comment and the tips :)
