I tried using my DVD Camcorder that I bought before I knew that they were rubbish to use with a Mac and iMovie. It took forever to get the footage into a format iMovie could read, but I did it...sort of.

Thommy B, this one's for you.

Music: "Phantom Limb" by The Shins

Wunnerful stuff as usual. Couple questions:
    1. What was the imovie filter you used on the walking footage?

    2. Name of the song/artist? I really liked it -- had a sweet Brian Wilsony vibe to it.

Cool music, I'll repeat Fuzzy's question.. What as the filter you used on the outside footage. Very cool looking.
  • Radthanael plus 2 years ago
Oh, sorry. Um, it's the "watercolor" filter.
  • SaraLily 2 years ago

Good job Nathanael. Explain why you felt embarrassed. You need more confidence!

It's hard to walk around talking in to a camera when you're surrounded by people who just use the internet for email - people who... just don't understand why someone would want to do this.
  • Thommy Browne plus 2 years ago
I see. I'm just the type of person who wouldn't care what everyone else was thinking. Plus, their reactions would stir it up a bit. I'm glad you did this.

I love taking my camera out in public and getting people all riled up!

I had the same reservation in toronto, I could only whip out my camera in touristy places, and then didnt feel normal talking to the camera. >_<

    Baby steps.

i don't even feel comfortable talking to the camera in my own home, let alone in public places!

Dude, seriously, I'm with Radthaniel here. It was *weird* talking into my camera on bardstown road today, but it needed to be done.

And at the restaurant. It's really uncomfortable. You try it, mister brown.

The outside footage from your camcorder made me feel like I was walking through one of those annoying dreams where I can't quite make everything go into focus, except those dreams never have good music playing, so it made it okay.

Nice. A lot of concrete. Were you playing the music as you walked 'cause you were sure walking in time with the song. I almost fell over face first into my keyboard while the camera was on your feet. . .
  • Radthanael plus 2 years ago
Oh, Rik. It was just one of those happy accidents that always seem to happen to happy people.

I applaud your outdoor efforts. I too went outside with my camera today without prompting from anyone online.

I spoke into it. In pubilc.

That's scary man. Will you start a support group? I'll be your first member.
