Following a modicum of self-promotion, Editor / Producer & Apple Certified Trainer Peter Salvia provides a walk thru for color grading footage shot with the new Canon EOS 5D Mark II Digital SLR in Apple Color.

This tutorial can be watched as a standalone color grading tutorial and / or as a companion piece to FCProse Episode 2. Check back soon for Episode 3 which will cover exporting your graded 5dmarkii footage using Apple Compressor for online sites like YouTube and Vimeo.

    Great video. My only complaint is that there are a number of instances where you arbitrarily make a change to a setting or perform a task without explaining what effect it has on the overall process. Other than that, these tutorials are extremely useful - keep them coming!

    It has not been until this year that I decided to step out of my comfort zone in FCP Studio.
    I feel color is more useful than Motion since last month. Very cool stuff.

    Ouch!
    Sorry, I just noticed you said this was shot with the EOS MarkII.
    I bought that same camera. It does not at all compare to my Sony XD cam in any way. The Canon 5D Mark II has major artifacts at the oddest times.
    Im not sure if I am 100% on this SLR camera over my XD cam EX1.
