It's full fall color here in the North Eastern US. This year has been one of the best for fall foliage. My mentor who taught me so much about TV production back in the early 90's passed away recently. I hadn't seen him in a few years but still think of his lessons nearly everyday. Many of these locations we shot together nearly 20 years ago. I will always remember him and I offer this video up as my way of saying thanks to an old friend. If playback stutters, click the HD IS ON to HD IS OFF.
Technically speaking, this was shot with an EX1 in 1080 30p. Some shots use the Letus Extreme, some do not. A few also use the indislider, but mostly it's just the stock lens. Cut in FCP and lightly color graded in FCP as well.

Extraordinary beauty.
Congratulations on your work !!
Great choice of music ... what more can be said?
Brilhante !!!
I can't think of any better tribute to Jack. He would be smiling proudly. Good work, my friend.
Thanks for sharing it.
I had problems with the video stopping - the HD off did not work for me. But I downloaded it and watched it on Real Player without any pausing.
Incredible!
I love the shot of Jack. Captures him perfectly
Can you tell me about the music?
A couple of shots using the indislider?
Man...I need to get an EX1!

You're in my pantheon of 'vimeo heroes' with Steven Dempsey, Tom Guilmette and Philip Bloom. So keep the good stuff coming man!
It oozes class.
You shot this with respect and admiration towards our wonderful earth.
Well done !
You say most was shot in NE States? Where exactly, I live in central jersey, well vancouver for a year but I know a great spot near Allentown PA. Its a scenic view a top a mountain that is vehicle accessible. Let me know if you'd like to know. Very nice composition though.

I should go for a walk in the forest this afternoon... ;-)
i thought your exposures looked pitch perfect. I was wondering if you use an external monitor to achieve that. Also, I was curious how many hours of filming this video represents. great locations!
I am very curious as to how you created the sideways panning motion. Did you have the camera on a horizontal rail? Beautiful stuff and a nice dedication to your mentor who died a young man.

Theres also another one you'll find in that description that is entirely shot with it. Called GROW!
Thanks for the kind words!
Much respect
