This video is simply a compilation of shots I took with the Flycam 6000. The beach shots were taken on a very windy evening and it was hard to keep the Steadicam-like device in control. The vest, camera, sled and arm are pretty heavy and I am still trying to balance the system correctly, not to mention the number of practice hours it takes to become proficient at this art.

Phil, thanks for the inspiration. I think one of my kids is getting me the Flycam 5000 for Christmas to use with my Sony V1U.

Your pic here and on the 32 Ford clip look amazing. It looks as if done with extensive lighting but it is clear you are using natural light. Must have been perfect days for shooting! The video has almost a 3D quality to it.

Hello, Phil!

I'm thinking of investing some money in a Flycam 6000 system with the arm and vest.

Is this a system worth going for? And have you used it with a camcorder + 35mm adapter?

The system works however be advised that with any of these steadicam setups practice is the real key. Balancing the camera takes time and a lot of it. Once you get the camera balanced properly, the rest comes pretty easily. I have had some fun with the flycam. I would think that adding the 35mm adapter would not make a lot of sense due to the critical focal distance but for just getting some great steady shots. It works.
