Okay, so down here in Australia most people say "see-ga" rather than "say-ga". Plus; I totally think that voice at the start of the Megadrive games sounds a whole lot more like "see-ga" or "seh-gah", than "say-ga"

This is my major project for 3rd year BA(multimedia) at RMIT (which I graduate from this year), created over about 4 months.

Software used: Maya 8.5, After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, Photoshop and Flash.

All modelling/texturing/lighting, animating and compositing done by me.

Voice over by Josh Molenkamp, who was kind enough to record for me while I was helping him with his 2nd year project.

Help thinking up some of the jokes by Emily Spehar (thanks!).

weird... I would expect to see somewhere on that timeline the appearance of sinclair 48k and it's followers which had certainly their impact on video game history, but somehow they were left out of the video...

Yeah I wanted to include the ZX spectrum and commodore 64, Amiga etc. (hell, I also wanted to include the game & watches, gameboys, segas portables etc.)
I just didn't have enough time though; modelling all of the systems took most of the production time for this assignment anyway, so I decided to just stick to just the most popular consoles and leave out the computers and handhelds.

Maybe in my spare time in the future I will make one focussing on the handhelds, and one focussing on home computers.

Well Kyle, seems like a good explanation to me, although that separation between consoles/computers at that particular time isn't that clear to me...

about the video i didn't write anything but it's realllly amazing.. great work ;)

Wow! Awesome video, are very funny the ballons with comments of the console.

I think that in the future the "war" could be with DLC exclusives or something.

Good Job! I love this video.

    Good stuff and informative.
Great animation, think the audio mix could be worked on - loosing the voice over a little...

Actually Kyle, if it suits you, you could just make this thing a complete historic retrospective that covers everything you mentioned, including the Vectrex, Intellivision, Odyssey II, TurboGrafix, Neo-Geo, 3DO, Phillips CD-I, all of the other Atari consoles including the Jaguar and so on.

I think that this has got to be one of the coolest recap pieces I've seen.

I f you do one on handhelds and stuff, just incorporate them into one gigantic overview!

Unless this was commissioned of course!

    Great work!
