Man.. something about that just creeped me the fuck out. Well done. There really is something about not quite being able to see something. That forcing of the minds eye to connect the dots.. Good work mate. Was that just animated in after fx?
  • Matt Taylor 1 year ago
Funny you should mention that, on my computer I thought that the thing in the cabinet was too easy to see, but when I played it on my wife's computer I couldn't see anything at all, so I decided to leave it as it was. But what someone is able to see is really dependant on thier monitor brightnes/contrast settings. But, as you mentioned, my original intention was to just show a hint and let the viewer imagine the rest!

Yep, it was animated in after fx! Thanks for watching it!

Yesterday I was messing around, and I filmed myself making tea. I uploaded it.

    I am very impressed.

Is this filmed with the hv20?
  • Matt Taylor 1 year ago
Yes, it was filmed with the HV20 with a 35mm adapter attached. I purchased the 35mm adapter from twoneil, who can be found here:

Whoa!! I don't know what freaked me out more...the unknown figure locked away....or that creepy stare you gave at the end. The music helped by the way...it just all of audden changed the mood. Good job.
  • Matt Taylor 1 year ago
Ha Ha, thanks Ian! I'm not as creepy as I pretend to be!

I'm glad you noticed the music shifts, I messed with the sound a lot before I got it just how I wanted it.

I like the range of your imagination Matt... Naivety of Sprang to... frankly, just damn off the hook troubling of Specter, Stranger and this one. Liking the variation.
  • Matt Taylor 1 year ago
Thanks SDI, I really appreciate that. I get a lot of fleeting ideas and I try to work on the ones that seem different from things I've done before.

Hey Matt, very nicely shot. I'm obsessed with 35mm adapters right now, just found out about them (i'm in the dark ages). Just curious which one you used?
  • Matt Taylor 1 year ago
Thanks Robert! I got my adapter from twoneil, who can be found here:

Thanks! If I had paid more attention before I left that comment I would have been able to figure it out for myself, haha. I just got an hv30 myself, so we'll see how long until I can go until I convince myself I need an adapter of my own.

just stumbled upon you work and I love what you've done with the HV 20! Should have bought when I had the chance. BTW where r u located?
  • Matt Taylor 29 days ago
    Hey Bradford,
Thanks for check'en it out! I love the HV20, I'm glad I decided to get it. I live in north-eastern Pennsylvania, a hot-bed of film-making activity.....NOT! But a beautiful place to live none the less. :)

You really should take the time to put together a feature script. You have a twisted imagination and a great sense for the macabre.
  • Matt Taylor 25 days ago
That is exactly what I keep dreaming of doing! Baby steps for now though! Thanks a lot for your feedback Mark, I really appreciate it.
