hey guys, you can catch this on here, but it's password protected. the thread it originated was on dvxuser.com but it's gone. dunno know why, but it was shot entirely on the d90 but maybe was pulled due to copyright issues.
Ik checked this video numerous times and some shots make me doubt about it's origin on D90! For instance I don't see the shutter effect as we do on ALL the other videos, and I'm talking about the smearing, motion blur which is impossible to get as far as I've read anywhere. Also there's a Slow motion shot in there which means using very good software to accomplish this. Also the color grading is a slight Vegas twitch, well then I think Vegas is going to replace my Pandora Pogle in the grading room... ( Just kidding, only praising your fine work ) So I'm hoping I'm wrong about what 'only' can be done on a D90 and the director would explain how he did it, as I'm baffled with the quality! Congrats on the video!
Shutter effect/jello effect from the D90 can easily be edited out... with few exceptions of examples I have seen (...can't wait to try one out myself), the jello and shutter effect occurs when the camera is moved at a rather fast rate. Most of what I seen as sample shots from the D90 are good looking shots which were taken from a static position or where movement of the camera is VERY slow.
The only exception was the one example where someone attached the D90 to a car at night and drove through a city... and, that one I have not been able to see anyone able to repeat this method of shooting with the D90...Has anyone been able to shoot with the D90 while driving in a car (preferable at night)?... If so, I'd like to see an uneditied shot sample.
The D90 is definately the wave of the future IMO... but, from what I have seen so far it is not at the level nor capability of a HV30 and Letus DOF (for example) combination. But,... it will probably be only a matter of time before the D90 ver. 2 before the HV30 + Letus combo can be matched...OR...by then, the HV30 ver. 2 will the real candidate for a DOF option that surpasses the ease and convienence of the D90. Either way... I can't wait til my bulky and difficult to use Letus DOF becomes obsolete. Until then...IMO...In essense, experience and good camera work in combination with good editing can make any camera look good.
Friends, let's talk about copyright.This video I found freely on the Internet! and thus I just can free him and place!I just overlaid part of the video.fragment! and this is not a violation.
do not forget:
the quality of the video a far cry from the original.
Yes, and what kind of policy? made a video - show the people!
Yeah, this video is gone for some reason...the original poster had it PW protected and his thread was taken down from dvxuser.com....but from what he said, everything was shot on the D90.
Shooting on a tripod or steadycam and also slow to medium moving objects will certainly remove most of the shutter and jello effect, but again this is the 'only' video shot on the D90 and in the now huge D90 samples collection that does it that well. The director mentioned a basic seting 'auto' used during this video! very basic colorgrading in Vegas etc.... which is someting I would really like to know how he didi that as the shutter effect doesn't go away using 'auto' settings, nor has vegas a good post motion blurring setting, as far as I know. The video is really good and I'm going to use the D90 in similar projects, and I would really like to know how you can get that kind of result using only what he described. Certainly as no one else had such a good result.
my guess, he used a very good post-motion blur software plug-in , something similar as twixtor to do that, including the slow-motion shot(s). The flares and offcourse 16mm. typo going through the image is an AFter effects compositing job... That we would how I would do it, including using some very good lenses, instead of the included one which doens't like darker situations that good... Woudl love to have a more detailed info from the director....
Friends, this (d90) model can do a fantastic video, I now understand that.
I like it more than video canon 5d markII! from the canon on the video is horizontal stripes incomprehensible, as if the matrix is failing to process the image! it is bad
for a large number of tasks 1280x720 missing entirely for installation and viewing, and let's not forget 24 frames per second is an order of magnitude better than the 30 frames
==========
Next week hopefully buy this photo! and promise to do like this video but can better! thanks all for your attention in my line!
I luv the color correction, nice and gritty green, yellowish!!!
