1975 Super-8 Maroc captured with ActiveDcam software
1 year ago
This 1975 Super-8 film was -wetgate- captured with my machine vision camera and ActiveDcam capturing software.
This software allows to capture with HQ debayering. The result is a razorsharp picture.
The aquiring application was custom made by Frank Vine:
cfav.co.uk/misc/projector/
The film was made by Rudy, Flanders, Belgium.
An exellent film maker!
I strongy suggest to download the full Mpeg4 version and to use ffdshow with your player if possible. This way, you can see the clip with good contrast and gamma, like it should be.

I'm looking into a prosilica camera right now.
prosilica.com/
Curious though, what is it that bottlenecks the speed of the captures? I'd like to be able to get it up to at least 20fps. I'm not sure if it is a camera/shutter bottleneck, or if it is the write speed of the drives.
Thank you for the compliments! Please remember the post processing is very important.. I have removed all film grain. This gives me the best results with my TIS camera.
But perhaps a better camera would give better results to begin with and needs less post processing.
The bottleneck with my system is the write speed to HD. With a Raid-O it should be possible to capture at 20fps. Well.. at least 15fps...
Keep on with the fine work you are doing! :)
Fred.
I have a HVX200 HD which is a piece of shit.I have a super 16 Bolex and love the images I get.
Yes, the wetgate makes all scratches on the layer side of the film (temporal) invisible.
A 16mm transfer unit is in the pipeline... But when? :)
