Fun to watch, seeing one of the great Time-Life shooters doing his thing with a sense of humor.

This needs to be aired on PBS. There is more info, ambiance and entertainment here than all the coverage I've seen on the subject. David is one great-multi-format photojounalist of our time, I am delighted to see him lead the way in this new reporting format.

Enjoyed the video and I agree, it would be great on PBS or CNN.

Dude, you are like the Woody Allen of photojournalism!
Awesome! Nice work with the low camera angles and pans too.

Burnett you did it again. Brilliant and comical.

YOu left as a business man, then after a week your hair was making you look like Einstein and at the end I thought I was looking and listening to Moses.

But dude, you are showing your age with that antique camera...bet a few folks in China called you Ansel.

Get you ass to LA so we can have some Brazilian churrascaria.

This is great, followed the link from David Honl to here. I love the line: "rhythmic gymnastics...and twirl a ribbon making it look like a piece of fettucine making it's way to alfredo sauce." It's a nice touch to have just a focus on behind the scenes - no shots of the glory, main events etc. but then again the video camera was dropped to the floor for those moments..Keep going with that Speed Graphic!

David, fabulous job. You're like me, always doing 20 things at once. It took me back in time to my days as a young photojournalist, wishing I was still doing it! Thanks for the energy to document this and share it as you did.

David, I enjoyed your video almost as much as I enjoyed the Olympics. I agree, it's not the same China Nixon and I saw. Granville Withers

David: A great video complement to your wonderful photos. Wish you could have been with us for our hike on the Great Wall. Your Colorado rock climbing training would have come in handy.

    Hey David,
Paul Fetters was raving about your video at Fotoweek DC. I agree, great fun!

Reminded me of the Al Frankin Saturday Night Live skit where he plays the 1 man self contained roving reporting crew with lights and camera all strapped to his person. How about pitching this to Discovery channel and let someone else carry your bags?

Looking forward to seeing your presentation on Wednesday at Fotoweek.

    Kevin

PS If any DC locals wants to see David in person, he speaks Wed. Nov 19th at Fotoweek DC

Really great. Thanks for giving such a terrific insight.

Any way to see a any of the images? I am particularly interested in anything from the main stadium, where shooting conditions seemed, well, less than optimum ;-)

I tried your sites, but didn't come up with anything on the fly by.

And Hi to your little Holga!
