1. Parks on Fire
Parks on Fire is an exploration of the complex, interpenetrated, and reflective relationships of structure, form, and motion that both bind and conflict the natural and manmade worlds. The experience is a visual and aural expedition through a series of uniquely explicated environments. Stunning synthetic worlds of micro precision evolve and meld in to landscapes of natural forms evoking the achingly unknowable sublime that is here captured, redefined and expressed via intensive digital reprocessing. Sound and image drive each other to create the uncanny sense that both are emerging from the same dammed-but-divine ethereal engine. The lush cinematic soundtrack is by Trifonic, and is available on their debut release Emergence.

Incredible, what is your production process? Are you doing generative artwork, or traditional motion graphics?

Scott -- absolutely stunning visuals. I'd love to hear which tools you used to do this one. The blend between 3d, 2d, and natural elements really worked well for me. I also reaaly enjoyed how your images followed the structure of the song -- on the macro as well as the micro levels.

    hello j.d.

thank you for the kind words ! glad you are enjoying the work. the main 2d tools were after effects and final cut pro. the main 3d tools were maya and houdini.

Good lord. If there's any motion designer that has the ability to emote through the visuals in a sophisticated way, it's definitely you. Even when the clips are just experimental bits, that say, don't always work as well as a whole, it's always fresh, always unexpected, and always extremely sophisticated. I could care less what kind of software or technical stuff you've used to make this stuff; I'm convinced you could pull off great stuff even with the simplest of tools.
