I came to the startling realization that I know a whole lot about nothing important.

It sure is fun, though.

Sorry it took so long. I just realized what you were asking.

Bad year if you were Aaron Burr.

You just gained 1,215 points in my book. Useless info only shows a broad cultural sensibility. Which is a good thing.

Wow. Sweet memory. You should play Ken Jennings's tuesday trivia, last week's quiz asked about the name of the law relating the speed of cricket chirps to the temperature.
  • PEIKA plus 2 years ago
is it count how many times one chirps in thirty seconds then add 30?
  • Lex Productions 2 years ago
Something like that, but it's got a name.

Runs in the family. (Who was the drummer for Iron Butterfly? - Ron Bushy; What's the natural abundance of the stable isotope N-15? 0.3663 atom percent). It could get you a job as a college professor. . .

I'd like to see someone organize a death match between Chuck Mangione and Kenny G where they are allowed to use their instruments as weapons and must duel in their best stage clothes. Then I'd like to see a meteor hit the venue it's held in. I'd like that very much.
  • Increase Mather 2 years ago
i'm pretty sure Chuck would best Kenny. though Big-K's got some monster sustain; 45 min if memory serves.

    1. Holy C**P that was a great video blog entry.
    2. I'm totally with you on the useless trivia--everybody at my office comes to me for answers to random crap like who played which character on some ancient TV show.
    3. The Hudsucker Proxy is a GREAT movie--"you know...for kids"
    4. Can't get that damn Chuck Mangione song out of my head now...

    Again, great video!
  • Charlie Trotter 2 years ago
Whether I should or not, I think it's funny that you asterisked out "CRAP" but went full steam ahead with "damn."
  • eric cwiertny 2 years ago
nice catch... tryin to keep it clean, for the kids...missed the "damn" word, oh crap, i did it again! uhhhh.... :-)

My brother's the same way. He reads wikipedia like it's a novel. I hate playing Trivial Pursuit with him.

the hudsucker proxy was absolutely brilliant.

I wish the dude at my starbucks did stuff like that.

He generally asks me questions about my job and compliments my outfits... but I don't think he's gay.

Does anyone know the older b/w film that the Hudsucker Proxy closely resembles in storyline? I saw it on some latenight showing on a TV show years ago and when I saw the Hudsucker Proxy it felt like I had already seen the film?

It had reference to John Doe in it dozens of times. I can't for the life of me remember what it was, but then again maybe its just another hallucination gone bad!?!

Brilliant. Comic book trivia must surely rival sports trivia as a world where only the stronghearted dare to tread in pursuit of mastery. I know little of that complicated world, but respect those of you who do. (Superman dies eventually, right?)

  • this is great, nat. woot to nerdom, because without it, there would be no smart people.
