Really nice. Even before i read your blog posting it was pretty clear what you were up to from the video. Regarding getting away from marble texture, perhaps flock some "brushes" that have a little more personality to their tip properties, and don't let them float off the page? Or maybe let them, but only within a range of no brush pressure to max pressure? Based on the flocking shape you used I thought that was kinda the direction you were headed anyway.
