See all Show me
Once upon a time, we awoke with a new question on our mind. We didn't quite know what the buzz and bustle of a Brooklyn afternoon would bring. In search of nothing more than some fresh answers, we found a few dreams instead.

It's a simple question and the answers can lead us anywhere. So go ahead, ask yourself…

Visit fiftypeopleonequestion.com/locations/3-brooklyn-ny and post your response.

We also asked this question in London - vimeo.com/2834087

Still stunning to look at even just with one basic shot. If anyone wants to give away a free 35mm adapter to me for Christmas, I would gladly accept. If so, I've got a box of ferrero roche with your name on it.
  • Ross Johnson plus 10 months ago
Hey Robert I made a very cheap 35mm DOF setup using an old camera from craigslist I got for $40 and some parts I had. You can see a video I made with it - not hard to make at all. Just a thought that may help.

So I'm coming out of my cave for a second to say.

Lovely. Ken, I love the way you chose to linger on that girl with the wind blowing in her hair, and her smile. It brought peace to me.

You have to admit, that panning really added to it :) Of course, you always fuss me for moving the camera around to much.

    Wait till you see london.....

Why is it that when someone stops and takes the time (even to make a video) to ask us a question like this, that it brings out such amazing humanity? IMHO, I think it's just because we want to be heard, and if someone gives a damn to ask, there's no telling what will bubble to the surface. I loved all of the unexpected emotion from these people when they were asked the question. Shows me what I thought I knew, that there is so much more just beneath the surface of all of us, hopes dreams, melancholy and love.....if only we'll take the time to ask.

Wonderful, as someone else said.....more please :-)
  • Beautiful thoughts Victoria…thanks for sharing, and for watching.

that blue scarf girl's got the most beautiful eyes i've ever seen.

was the people selection random or did you end up choosing the ones with a certain criteria, such as looks or interestingness?
  • Hey Ramiro.. We just set up on a street corner, and pulled whoever walked by us. Pretty much random, but every now and then we went up to people who seemed interesting.

And yes, the 'blue scarf girl' was one of those people who had a really interesting look. Great answer too.

  • janie lynch 10 months ago
That was really great. I love being reminded how honest and wonderful people can be and how we are all so connected. I love the kid who lost his dad. I will never forget the way his voice sounded. And I love the people who were happy where they were. That's rad!
