I did this time lapse video with a Canon Digital Rebel XT SLR and my iBook. Using its accompanying EOS Utility software, one shot was taken every minute and then combined as an image sequence with Apple Quicktime Pro at 10 frames per second. I think it's about three hours (7pm to 10pm) shrunk down to ten seconds. As it got darker, the auto exposures got longer. The glow at the end is from the street lamps.
