It looks like a swedish "dalahäst" (dalecarlian horse). A painted wooden horse from the swedish province dalarna (dalecarlia in english). they're normally red and they're supposed to have a certain pattern hand painted on them, but there are other colorings as well and I think Ikea might be selling "modern" models around the world... even chocolate ones. or someone went to sweden and then to carl's basement.
