  • Jona Bechtolt 11 months ago
YES. I'm so down with podcasts like WNYC/NPR's RadioLab, and I have a David Lynch book on tape that I listen to over and over... I need to get some more!

ha, listen to motivational speakers via podcast. or you can do what i do - start speaking in accents to entertain yourself. driving for hours alone is always boring.

I live near cleveland, and go to school in Cincinnati, so I know that drive by heart. 71 can get real old real fast. I'm sure think the country is getting real old real fast though...

Books on tape for sure! Or learn a new language.
  • Jona Bechtolt 11 months ago
NEW LANGUAGE! Holy shit! Anyone got any MP3s?
  • Cameron Christopher 11 months ago
I don't, but there are podcasts and such...
  • alissa 11 months ago

there are some really lovely russian podcasts out there, too

oh! and my favorite podcast (besides TAL) is npr's "wait wait...don't tell me!". i saw it taped live once and it was totally groovy and hilarious. the "news from lake wobegon" podcast is good, too, if you like a prairie home companion

I second Podcasts. Start with 'The Sound of Young America' or 'This American Life'.

or anything but picking up hitchhikers.
  • Cameron Christopher 11 months ago
    I love this american life.
  • Jona Bechtolt 11 months ago
Totally. I have a good deal of TALs on my iPod. I need some more.

you should get a tape recorder and make little recordings to send to people. like letters, but you're talking instead of writing. that can be fun.
  • Jona Bechtolt 11 months ago
OOH! Good call! I have this other idea too... MAKE ME A MIXTAPE OF YOUR CITY'S MUSIC! When I say "mixtape" I mean a ZIP file or a CD or whatever! Show me your local zones!
  • 3d60 11 months ago
what like street sounds emphera and overheard conversations....i could snoop recording the passing and the sittings of stuff...I could get arrested and everything......

    p.s. good shades

I have a pretty sweet story about a snowflake. I don't know how into the winter you are right now, but it's a nice one. I'll try and get some people together to make you some motivational tour driving music, straight up Portland style.
  • Jona Bechtolt 11 months ago
    Awesome, thank you!

Thanks! They are my first ever pair of "real" sunglasses. I had very similar plastic ones lent to me by Bobby Birdman and I totally left them on a plane in Australia. Don't tell him.
