Me and Laura jammin at CIC
This is me and my partner Laura jammin to "Shout and Feel It." this past weekend during the "Colorado's in Cleveland" event.
Fun fact: the lift we do at the end was completely impromptu. We had a lot of momentum going into the dip and the song wasn't quite finished, so I just kept her going around and that's what ended up happening. I think it worked pretty well.

I'm really impressed with yours and Laura's coordinated footwork. I guess that's pretty basic, but it really looks good. And the lift at the end is great!

I see a number of problems here that are also in the clip of Me and Dani dancing to JET. In particular:
1) Tandem is boring, and connection is too high
2) I lose pulse when I'm thinking, i.e. when I'm lifting her out of the tandem side drop and when I'm bringing her in for the dip/lift.
Thoughts on the tandem drop: we have the first part of it (the catch) down, but the rest of it still feels... rushed, maybe? We aren't fulfilling our movements. It looks destination-oriented. The exit is pretty sloppy as well.
Overall I'm pretty happy with this jam. The biggest problem with it is that I was focused on getting that drop in, and I sacrificed some musicality to get it there. We look much more organic and dynamic when we get that move out of the way and I'm back in the music.
I think that I generally worry too much about doing big flashy moves in jams, to the point where my dancing loses it's spontaneity and zeal. I need to practice those big moves more often so that they come more naturally, but more importantly, I just need to stay out of my head and in the music. I know flashy moves with all sorts of different timings from all sorts of positions; instead of worrying about positioning myself to use a particular one at the right time, I just need to let them work themselves in.
So, that's my critique. If you're a lindy hopper, please post your criticisms and suggestions!
