went to the summer of love anniversary concert. here's about a minute and a half of rather silly impressions from the crowd experience. it was a multi-generational crowd, of course, with all kinds of people... all getting a little older. 40 years ago is a long time.

(i didn't any get good sound at the event -- so this soundtrack can be a temporary replacement while i find somehing. it's ALL temporary, right? )

from the fashion perspective, yep, time is cruel!

still, some of the people in their 20s in 1967 were the ones who tried to -- and in many ways did -- change the world. i wonder if those there in the park were part of it or wished they were. the counterculture was big but by no means universal. that's a documentary that could have been made ...
    what were you doing then?

even those of us who were younger then (or those not yet born) are moving through time: i want to be around to film the younger woman who is chewing on the bottle cap when she's sixty-four, pierced, green-headed and having a cold one in memory of the great times of the early 21st century.

i uploaded another clip, from the other side of the hill in the park. vimeo.com/298255

Nice video. I just went to the psychedelic exhibit at the Whitney museum. I like your opening shot of kids on cellphones.

me personally, I was three years old in 1967, and most likely spent my summer playing in puddles and falling in the mud....so probably not much different than some of the participants.
