I got my cast off the other day. I feel like a part of me is gone, and a part of my Vimeo involvment is gone. All the clips I'm in [besides glad wrapped] show me with my cast. I think all Vimeo users familiar with my cast should mourn the loss of it.

Awwww! it really was a big part of your involvment in Vimeo. Especially the clips with the leotard. I know I'll miss it. haha.

I miss it. That party at Jess' was quite an event, really. I'm so gay laughing when he put the ruler in, but it was just so funny! It's like a satire of a medical procedure; I kept expecting him to get out a giant saw or something.

When I put this together I made sure I put in all the parts where he like sliced your arm. I just found them sooo funny! Oh and the parts where he tries to use the pliers and the scissors. They do absolutely nothing. It's great.

He gave me a serious gash. It's a deep cut in my arm and it hurts like all hell.

I was hoping your arm would have been incredibly hairy. I guess we've lost a member of the Vimeo family with this one, but I think I'll get over it. Probably just a week of mourning.

I liked seeing Bec laugh at the ruler, because I was laughing at that also. A ruler???

yikes. Although I'll admit I too was looking forward to the simian pelt.
  •
  • 7how7 4 years ago
did he really cut your arm ? i thought those saws were specifically designed to stop as soon as they hit skin !
  •
  • Jimmie 4 years ago
Yeah Jakob we were hoping it would be all hairy and shrivelled too. Afterwards Tina actually said her life was not worth living because her arm was too normal. She was looking forward to being a freak and having people stare at her deformed arm.

7how7, instead of the saw spinning around, it kind of vibrates really fast from side to side and only cuts your skin if it's pressed really hard. after we left the surgery we noticed that he had in fact actually cut her. It also would have been pretty hard for him to have done it, unless he didn't have much of an idea of what he was doing which actually scares me a little knowing that he was using a saw.

Jakob: I too was hoping my arm would be incredibly hairy, black, pasty and wrinkled. It was really dissapointing. But at least I didnt have to go out in public with a deformed arm. I wore my jumper that day [it was boiling] just so I wouldn't have to let people see it...

    themexican: ok... yeah

7how7: He really did cut my arm. And it's deep. They are designed to only break through flesh if they are moved accrossways instead of up and down ways. But my doctor decided he might move it accrossways and rip into my flesh

Oh come on Jess! I said that my life was not worth living because the cast was gone, not because my arm looked normal!

ps. we posted those comments at the exact same time. freak out!!
  •
  • Jimmie 4 years ago
No you didn't at all! It was walking back from the car and you said that your life was not worth living because you were hoping it would look really weird and it didn't. The only reason I remember is because I honestly couldn't believe you'd said it! I remember laughing at you. I wouldn't have laughed if you said that it was because you wanted your cast back, because that's not really funny at all.
  •
  • becgeez 4 years ago
Yeah she did, she said "my life isn't worth living without my cast!" - I think
  •
  • Jimmie 4 years ago
Haha guys I know that she didn't. I remember it perfectly, that's the only reason I mentioned it. I promise you that we were talking about how normal her arm looked and that she was really disappointed that it wasn't weird and her life isn't worth living anymore.

I cannot believe how inept that guy was. That was your DOCTOR??? It looked like that was absolutely the first time he had ever tried this, AND he had only ever seen it done in a clown movie. Congratulations, you are truly a brave girl.
  •
  • Tina Mosh 4 years ago
Si, I think you are right! It is a new era, a new beginning. I still have the actual cast, I can just wear it around for fun!!

Andrea, Thanks!! This man is my doctor. He is the most disorganised man I have ever met, he rushes and he looks like santa.

ok i know i'm random, but here's my two cents. i think we expect extreme hairyness cause of legs... like we shave our legs. but the fact is, our arm hair doesnt grow so fast... am i making sense? when i got my cast off my leg, it was so hairy i sort of wanted to keep the hair, just to be gross.

    xox
    angie

p.s. my boyfriend made me shave it. smart boy.

  • Tina Mosh 4 years ago
It is indeed a great place to lodge videos.
  •
  • Jimmie 4 years ago
Hahaha Angie, I don't think it's that we actually thought (well I didn't) that her arm was literally getting hairier. More that her arm would get pasty (really pale for those who dont use that word) and the hair would stand out more, creating the illusion that there was more hair when there wasn't at all.

Hahaha glad that's sorted. Hope it made sense.

These people posting in Spanish are hilarious. Do they not see that we all speak English? Hahaha it's funny Tina, because it's so obvious that you are using the word 'lodge' because you went to a translator. I only know that because I did the same thing hahahahahaha.
  •
  • becgeez 4 years ago
I know Tin used a translator because she doesn't speak Spanish. Who else posts in Spanish?
  •
  • Jimmie 4 years ago
Yeah I know she used a translator too, that's why I said it.

now i'm sad.... also, there was something kind of kinky about the way he handled your arm after the cast was off.
  •
  • Tina Mosh 4 years ago
He is an old, old man. Please don't ever say that!!
  •
  • Jimmie 4 years ago
Hahaha Dalas, I put this video together and gave it to Tina because it was we filmed it on my camera, and I kept that part in for that exact reason - it's really creepy and he pretty much strokes her arm which I found extremely funny.
  •
  • Tina Mosh 4 years ago
I don't find it all that creepy. He's a doctor. He had to check if it was ok.
  •
  • Jimmie 4 years ago
Yeah well the way he did it looked creepy to me. To most people it looked creepy whether it was to check your arm or not.

Ha! It was a relatively cringe-worthy moment. I bear the scars.
It was quite upsetting that it was so normal.
    46 comments? fantastic!!!!!

What is this cast made of? Adamantium?

He almost took the cast AND your arm during the process!
  •
  • Buck Flashroy 4 years ago
I cant believe its gone! Also, how scary are those saw things? I broke my foot last year, and when they took the cast off I just assumed they would cut it off with scissors. I couldn't get used to the fact that a saw was moving towards my foot, the one thing I had been trying to protect so hard for the last couple of months.

I like the way this is such a big thing. Everyone knows you with your cast, so when it gets removed everyone has to see. The clips only been up a month and already its been viewed 2,346 times, and this is the 48th comment!!!!

  • Tina Mosh 4 years ago
the cast was made of fibreglass. i bear the scar of a bad sawing job. its such a huge part of me now!

I love that it's been viewed so many times, and had so many comments. It's so nice to know that people "care". And yeah, I honestly did believe that they were going to use scissors. i had no idea how it really worked!!

OMG. I was so scared for you. Just the sound of the saw made me cringe. I cracked up when your doctor pulled out the scissors and your friend was like "Ohh, no." And when she handed you back your cast to you, for a second I thought you were going to kiss it good-bye. lol :)

ive had 2 casts, and with both i was strictly told to NEVER put rulers down the cast EVER. i dont get why you can do it :/ its quite funny though, how he uses pretty much every tool he has at hand to take off your cast. even a ruler and a lolly stick.
  •
  • hªnnes 4 years ago
that must be such a cool moment, such a good feeling!! it feels freeing even if seen through a video! and the cracking noise of the cast really remembers me of alien movies...
  •
  • clates 4 years ago
I remember getting my cast off... it was just like this, except mine was blue. It felt SO nice... when he cracks your open, it reminded me of cracking dungeness crabs. The sound, and the colour of the cast's shell, and the white fabric underneath.

Only without Tina's arm inside... that would be weird.
  •
  • they should have used a chainsaw instead of those miniscual tools.

This clip was such a huge deal when I uploaded it. 29 digs was unheard of.
