When i take photos, I generally take a lot of photos in hopes of obtaining a few that are nice and then I post them on Flickr. But then i have all these other photos.

So i made this video of pictures from this summer. Excluded are pictures that i took in black and white and any night time drinking photos. These are just the summer days from beginning to end.

It's like seeing your life flash before your eyes.

this is a great version of 'summer wind'. almost as good as the old blue eyes' version. who sings it?

ps: love how the shot of the plane is sync'd up to "flying by..."

Thanks! the plane syncing with the song was a happy accident and i made those frames slightly longer than the others to help correspond.

This version is by a woman named Madeleine Peyroux...she's very ella fitzgerald esque. She has an interesting cover of Elliot Smith's 'between the bars'

I agree. It would be good to have a page where I could send friends to see "my" videos, that wouldn't include videos that I happen to be in the background of and got added to the cast.

yeah i'm thinking about doing this more often. people always wonder why i take so many pics of them and what i do with them all. I really do nothing....so this seems like a nice alternative.

I do the same thing (take many shots at once) and once when I got a new computer and imported everything over I saw them flash before me -- all 5,000 of them. I've been wanting to make them into a video ever since but had technical problems. This inspires me to try again -- it's wonderful.

yes exactly! I would think the same thing every time i import a lot of pics. You should definitely do it. I think it would be interesting (although long, boring and probably a visual overload) to do your whole life.

Well this is a pretty great inspiration. I shoot the same way. Out of anywhere between 50-100 shots sometimes for only a handful that I feel "Flickr worthy." I guess I'll be busy with my archives here in the near future. Thanks Mars!

hey fabian! I used imovie to edit....batch edited all 1000 photos down to a more manageable size before i imported to avoid problems.

Really peaceful atmosphere ! Like having cool, without hurry (I've a limited vocabulary) moments. Music makes it even more peaceful with a little bit of nostalgy (but that's maybe only me).

this is so extremely brilliant. I love the bittersweetness. I almost feel like crying actually now it reminds me that summer is over now. How did you take all those photos so close to each other? it's almost like time lapse, do you have a special camera?

thanks! I don't have a special camera....just a canon DSLR on continuous shooting mode. I'll often times use the continuous shooting for things like people jumping into the pool...but for other things like my friends walking to the beach, ill just take a lot of photos of the same thing hoping that one comes out good.

I loved the parts that seemed to be animated from using the rapid-fire on your camera, like the baseball game... it's like you took low frame/second video with your stills, and that really worked here.

i love this! what camera do you have? the shots were amazing and i love how the girl was crouching on the beach and theres a shot from like 3 or 4 different angles so it looks like youre panning around her. wicked stuff! i need to go digital - i am way back in the past with my non digital slr ):
