Looking for fun on Vimeo
Thanks to Ted B. and his friends for letting me use a story and video for these 3 minutes of fun...

You got us all wondering what's coming next
I'll include a story file in it.
Quite creative and a nice job.
But, you now have me wondering if the PSM Channel url is hidden back there as well. And if so, no chance you are coersing Vimeo into including hotspots. ;-)
I don't know what I'm doing with it yet. One goal is to somehow include a story for or from PSM. I'm setting up a projector and screen to show the story on it. Is it OK to use one of yours instead of mine? The mouse or mice can run around the room and be added to the story, a bit of each.
The higher level goal is to have fun and learn from it.... as usual.
I tried a file once with a 'trigger' that opens my website at the end of it.... to see if it went along for the ride from the wmv file (in which I added it) to Vimeo's flash file... it didn't. That left it only working in a copy of the downloaded original wmv.
Our goal is to learn from it as well.
Ted
I am lost ...
'lost' John and 'don't understand a word' Ray - all too usual reactions to things I put online... :)
I was looking for your upload file couldn't find it. I was going to download it and view the original.
By the way John, what software did you use to incorporate the animation. I was thinking Shockwave Flash, but I don't think Vimeo supports .swf files.
It's my usual, a Movie Maker 2.1 production to a wmv file.... using lots of blue-screening to add the animations.
Here's a link to get your personal mouse... papajohn.org/Downloads/aeromouse.exe
I'm revving the flick again to add a little closing clip...
Is this the same furry friend you used in your animations:
glassworks.co.uk/videos/aero_kiosk.mov
I noticed the mice in your clip propagate much faster than using the AeroMouse.exe program and the descending Aero bar ad has been removed. Just wondering if you used selective captures and copied them to create the effects.
And many thanks for the link to the wmv file.
Ted
I captured mouse clips with the Microsoft Encoder as it moved across a blue background (Microsoft Paint colored plain blue - 255). From there it was into Movie Maker using 'standard' (custom xml) bluescreen transitions and a number of passes to propogate the litter.
And thanks again.
Ted
Now the video is infected. I gotta find a way to exterminate them. I’ll have to call pest control......... :-)
But John, it is quite creative and must say I liked.
I think I remember seeing a comment some time ago about the projector you are using. I went looking for it but couldn’t find the post. Just wonder if you can refresh my memory as to the projector software you've used.
I'm glad you like it as it has your name all over it.
BTW, I embedded your video in a simple web page and posted a link to it in a forum I moderate. Gonna have a bit of fun with it over there too. Hope that was OK with you. If not I'll remove it.
To catch attention I entitled the thread:
PapaJohn Up To Some Devilment - Another Mashup.
I didn't leave it hanging at that, I described your qualifications in the first post.
I noticed you were working late last night, possibly on this one. And when I saw your video this morning, this song came to mind:
youtube.com/watch?v=jyvaIH6RlNQ
You may recall it from the 60's
Oh yeah, Looking for another mashup soon. ;-)
Use the clip any way you wish... with your clips in it, I consider it as much yours as mine.
Yes, that's what I was doing last night until about 4:30am, a bit later than usual going to bed as the mice mash kept me up.
I'd do a tutorial if I was still doing newsletters, but with the website and writing for Bright Hub I'll probably pass on it, at least in the short run. I'm leaning more these days to website maintenance combined with making vids like this one that inspire and teach by example, followed by passing the 'how-to' along to anyone who asks.
