It's cool to glimpse the inside and see the same thing we were doing as kids with a keyboard/synth in the garage with all our friends... havin' fun and creating something unique. Although our goofy stuff didn't go platinum. ;)

Interesting to see what is going on behind the scenes. Kanye - you are a perfectionist and a half! Don't know of many other artists who would go back and mix drums again AFTER releasing the single!

Like. LOVE. My new favorite video on Vimeo.

There is nothing that I am more interested in than the creative process - and this video gave me front row access. I could watch Kanye, Tim and their teams genius live and unfiltered all day long.

    Please, keep em coming!

well...basically, kanye thought that the kick drums in the radio cut of stronger (which is the bass drum if you guys don't know what a kick is) were too flat, they didn't have enough punch to them. K brought in timbo to tinker the drums a little bit to make them thump more.

timberland said the reason why kanye's kick drums were so flat is that he didn't have any undertones to his kick drums. undertones are what really brings out the "thump" in the kick drums. timbo kept the original kicks in, and found one of his own that would compliment them. he added his own kick, in almost the same rhythym, but with a few more kicks.

compare the radio cut with the album cut and you'll see the difference may seem suttle at first, but listening to them back to back it's a HUGE difference.

Creativity ? For god's sake. They just added some random lyrics and a drumtrack over a Daft Punk track that was already good. Timbaland has never been original. Even his name is not original. He samples and steals from everybody else, so i certainly can't see where the creativity is.

And the video is not original, either. It borrows a lot from Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira.

I know what i'm going to do next: i'll rap over a Cassius track and i'll make a video stealing from Dragon Ball Z. I'll be a millionaire and then the n00bs will talk in the forums about "my" creativity.

That is all true, and its an interesting subject of just how creative something or someone is. Its aimed towards Hip Hop/Rap/Dance very often due to the reliance on samples and cuts.

I agree Stronger is pretty mundane from Kanye, but if you look at Jesus Walks or Diamonds from Sierra Leone there is far more depth. I think the variety of styles he uses (including the samples) is what distinguishes him from every other main-stream rapper
