In responce to JChap's request for 25 seconds about marketing, bust since 25 seconds isn't very long and JChap is thinking about studying it I kinda turned it into a bit of a general 'about marketing' type of thing.. yeah.. boring.. just go and watch my last video, I kinda liked that one at least..

hahaha maybe... :D - actually I set myself a 25 second count down in Awaken (http://www.embraceware.com/software/awaken/) and that's the default noise lol - but I could pretend if you like? lol :D

Well talking is just about all I can do at the moment since I'm lacking a video camera all I have is my iSight in the MacBook so request a topic, give me a time limit and I might have a go for you :)

ita only a passing phase this accent thing......all to quickly it comes down to the nitty gritty...ps i'm a sucker for hot accents....and the nitty gritty comes once the behavoiur moderators have worn off!!!

haha just seeing this...i was outta town. nice, apart from being entertaining, this helps a lot.

i think i'd be decent at marketing, but i dont like the thought of being resented for trying to control people's thoughts.

that said, i guess just about every industry, at some point or another, involves trying to influence the way others around you think.

maybe not plumbing.

JChap, I've seen you do comedy. Why do you feel that you would automatically be "resented" for trying to "control" people's thoughts? Sometimes people want somebody else to influence how they think. Marketing can be good (e.g. how else would you have found out about Vimeo?)

i found out about Vimeo from natural word of mouth (e.g. you linking me to some clips on here), and then i began liking it as i browsed it and read comments, and experienced first-hand.

i don't think Vimeo was ever professionally "sold" or "marketed" to me...it was just good.

oh but it was.. just so well that you didn't realise which is the best kind.. I found out about it from an embedded video in someone's blog and it was a marketing decision to add that feature so that more people would be exposed to the site in more places..
