even the Japanese dyson vac cleaners are better than the original uk models, so i would say this is a blatant copy and cash in by dyson, maybe the 10 year patent was up for mitsu. they have had these airblade style dyers in japan for over 10 years.
Dyson know most of the public is not educated in these matters and the public generally think that their country is at the cutting edge ( all foreigners come "here" to improve standard of living) so therefore dyson and others know that most people will not question their misleading self trumpeting advertising
