Back In The Game (part 2)
In which I discover that Julia thinks it's sexy when I film her.
Every now and then, I take a break from making videos for a while. The past three months have been such a phase. And it's exciting, because I have more to say now than ever before.

Also, I would just like to note that I was wearing NO MAKEUP in this video. I say that because there are a few people out there who think I wear mounds of makeup all the time. No. I just happen to have to wear it for work - but I take it off the first minute I can, usually. So really, it's either TV makeup (which is inherently too much) or this - nothing.
Jake says that ... well, hmm ... how does he put it, exactly ... he feels more equal with me when I'm not wearing makeup? Or that I'm not in "tv mode"? J, how did you explain how you felt about me wearing or not wearing makeup?

'sweeet'
and such a nice eye.
i found myself not even listening to what you guys were talking about...
Nice video, love the intimacy of it.
Is this the implosion stage of a relationship - spiralling into irrelevance - one partner struggling valiantly to assert control (posturing, nostalgic, clinging) whilst the other floats slowly away, heeding a calling, sadly toying with lost love?
Sad, and oh too typical.
And I love Nick's indignation at the democratic nature of it all. Maybe I'm just a newbie Nick, or a voyeur, does that mean I can't dissect this public relationship? Or are you offended by my intrusion into your little world? Join a private forum, or move to Burma, if you want to limit free speech.
And you might want to check your political metaphors. This video page is MY property. A stranger walking onto my land and sputtering some academic nonsense is not democracy. If you want your own forum, by all means upload your own videos. I will not stop you!
You should be thanking me for engaging with you instead of giving your comments the treatment they deserve: deletion.
I didn't set out to hurt anyone's feelings just thought that one video was a bit lame, and seemed cloying. I defended Julia's Google attack. I guess I should have sang more praises before criticising!
I only joined Vimeo yesterday at the suggestion of a friend, and intended to upload stuff, but I will leave now, feeling unwelcome (you do sound so much like the Google people!).
And yes, I do thank you for engaging me. You are a noble man. Thank you, and I'm so sorry!
I generally try to be sincere. My only verge on sarcasm was in my last para -- "noble man" probably would have have been more sincere (and wittier) as "engaging character". That you are, as is Julia.
More power to ya!
Then I wondered whether to say it or not - because nobody here apparently knows me, because I've only posted a couple of mega-pixelated phone clips.. it's interesting how your definition of identity is constrained to vimeo (not that theres anything wrong with that) when it is likely that we all have bits of identity spread throughout the web.
Where is that identity aggregator when you need one..
No worries at all guys, you seem a sweet and talented bunch.
I'd be happy to slowly cultivate a personality and the ensuing (or not) friendships, but I think my "identity agitator" attitude was an acerbic introduction. Perhaps I should remain an anonymous online voyeur, shamed by my negative approach. It seems provocative... albeit shameful.
Or maybe just rely on meatspace...
I mean, freedom of speech and all, but I feel like the Vimeo community generally shuns this kind of behavior, and we all like it because of that.

Our relationship has been helping in large part to making it public. We get insight from dozens of friends who, instead of hearing my side of the story or her side of the story, actually get to *watch the story*. It's great.
I think Jakob agrees. HAHAHA

I knew that a similar shot did not have to look as bad.
Lighting may be different but I had to try it out.
(Oh and thanks to you I have a very nice black keyboard with lovely white dots on it (the dots being the milk that came from my nose))
Somehow alluring yet really freaking gross.
You guys are a lovely couple and it's totally sugary sweet.
What I was specifically referring to was how open you guys are with your communication, and just how cute your conversations are. I like watching it, but I'm single so I'm jealous, therefore anything cute you do is categorized as gross.
Didn't mean to offend! :-)
